When an Engine Control Unit, or ECU, is severely damaged, most cars stop working. The ECU is the engine’s brain; generally, the car engine won’t turn over or start when the critical electronic connections stop functioning. Most dealerships only have the ability to program new ECU computers, and will not be able to repair one that has already been programmed. We can transfer all data from a damaged ECU to a replacement computer at a fraction of the cost.
What is ECU Cloning?
ECU cloning is a technical process where existing engine computer information is duplicated onto a replacement ECU. The information, including the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), allows a new computer to replace a damaged or broken unit. We can use a new or second hand ECU for the cloning process. No additional ECU programming is required before installation.
